Fuori le Zampe
Four years (and counting) volunteering for a dog shelter outside Bologna: their WordPress website, photography, illustration, print materials, and brand work, all aimed at getting shelter dogs adopted.
Overview
Fuori le Zampe ODV is a volunteer-run dog shelter in Calderara di Reno, near Bologna. I built their WordPress website and still maintain it today: you can see the live site at fuorilezampe.it ↗. From 2023 to 2025 I also handled most of their visual output: photographing the dogs for adoption profiles, illustrating and designing print materials, and building out a small brand system for their corporate sponsorship program.
The work spanned a lot of formats: hand-drawn line-art portraits of shelter dogs for a printed tote bag, yearly wall and desk calendars laid out in InDesign (2023 through 2026), adoption flyers, and “Zampe al Lavoro,” a sponsorship program pitching local businesses on remote-adopting a dog, complete with its own certificate design and social recap materials.
I used to run the shelter’s social media on my own; today others handle most of it and I only contribute occasionally, so this case study only includes print and brand materials I designed directly: nothing shown here reflects the account’s current content.
